About Dialpad
Dialpad is the AI platform for customer experience, built to resolve customer problems in real time across voice and digital. Our AI agents learn from your best human agents and improve with every interaction, helping organizations understand their customers, deliver better experiences, increase operational efficiencies, and build a lasting competitive advantage.
Unlike legacy systems built to route and answer, or standalone agentic bot vendors built to deflect, Dialpad was built to resolve. Our AI agents and human agents operate on a single platform with shared context, allowing Agentic AI to resolve issues, advance deals, and eliminate busywork through automation while seamlessly handing conversations to humans when needed, with full context preserved.
Market-leading brands, including Randstad, Motorola Solutions, Netflix, the San Diego Padres, the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, and Cal Athletics, trust Dialpad. Dialpad is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, GV, ICONIQ Capital, and T-Mobile.
Being a Dialer
At Dialpad, AI isn’t just a feature; it’s how our teams do their best work every day. We put powerful AI tools in every employee’s hands so they can move faster, think bigger, and achieve more.
We believe every conversation matters. And we’ve built the platform that turns those conversations into insight and action, for our customers and ourselves.
We look for people who are intensely curious and hold themselves to a high bar. Our ambition is significant, and achieving it requires a team that operates at the highest level. We seek individuals who embody our core traits: Scrappy, Curious, Optimistic, Persistent, and Empathetic.
Your role
As a Sr. Payroll Analyst, you’ll own end-to-end US and international payroll processing, reconciliations, and GL accounting. You’ll partner closely with third-party vendors, People Operations, Finance, and Treasury to streamline cross-functional payroll workflows and resolve complex issues. You’ll also help create robust payroll journal entries and GL reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve variances. In addition, you’ll help bring continuous process improvements, seamless system integrations, and multi-country tax and regulatory compliance to our expanding global operations.
This position reports to our Sr. Manager, Global Payroll, and has the opportunity to be based in our Austin, Tempe, or San Ramon office.
What you’ll do
- Process, prepare, and reconcile US and international payroll, including variable compensation, off-cycle payroll, terminations, and ad-hoc payments as needed.
- Work with third-party vendors (e.g., Workday, Crowe) to create payroll cases and process off-cycle adjustments as necessary.
- Process benefits contributions (e.g., HSA, DSA, FSA, commuter), monitor for changes, and reconcile data to ensure benefits statements align with payroll deductions.
- Monitor Time & Attendance timesheets and processing for non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance for US, Canada, UK, and Switzerland employees.
- Assist with other international payrolls as needed.
- Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accurate departmental coding and period-end accruals.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll-related GL accounts, identifying and resolving any variances between the payroll system and the financial records.
- Register new State/SUI/Local payroll tax and enter new tax jurisdictions into payroll systems.
- Assist with external audits (e.g., year-end financial audit, 401(k), workers’ compensation) by providing supporting records and documentation.
- Assist with year-end W-2 reconciliation and reporting.
- Keep informed of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
- Directly assist employees and managers with payroll-related education, questions, or issues.
- Resolve payroll issues independently through research, analysis, knowledge of best practices, and proposal of reasonable solutions.
- Support system integrations between the People and payroll systems to ensure accurate and complete data.
- Partner with People Operations, Finance, Treasury, and other departments on ongoing process improvements.
- Maintain organized and detailed payroll records, ensuring all payroll data and changes are accurately and completely reflected in the payroll system.
Skills you’ll bring
- 6+ years of direct payroll experience processing US multi-state and Canadian payroll.
- HRIS experience required, with Workday preferred.
- Experience with accounting, tax, and finance concepts relating to payroll.
- Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), MS Word, and Google Sheets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with internal and external parties while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle workload fluctuations and multiple requests.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-priority environment while maintaining firm deadlines.
- Knowledge and mindset for automation and process improvements for scalability.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
- Experience with stock-payroll transactions preferred.
