Kinder's • Walnut Creek, CA • Full Time

BUILT ON FLAVOR. FUELED BY PEOPLE.
What’s it like to work at Kinder’s? Well, there’s a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there’s also plenty of hard work. Because we don’t just like flavor, we’re obsessed with it.
With over 100 products sold nationwide, we’re now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We’re not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.
As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you’re looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you’ll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives.
About This Role:
At Kinder's, we're passionate about flavor, quality, and creating exceptional food experiences. As our company continues to grow, so does the scale and complexity of our supply chain across co-manufacturing, logistics, and an expanding SKU portfolio.
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Finance - Sourcing & Procurement will serve as the lead finance business partner to Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, providing financial leadership across raw materials, ingredients, packaging, components, supplier costs, commodities, and sourcing initiatives.
This senior manager will own planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for material costs while helping Procurement evaluate supplier economics, negotiate from a fact base, and deliver sustainable value. The role will assess inflation and deflation, purchase price variance, co-manufacturer true-ups, tariffs, duties, freight terms, minimum order quantities, and supplier or specification changes.
This position will strengthen accountability for sourcing commitments by establishing consistent methodologies, validating savings, and connecting procurement decisions to COGS, gross margin, working capital, supply continuity, and long-term business performance.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Planning, Forecasting & Material Cost Performance
- Own the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, components, and other procurement-driven costs.
- Develop and maintain commodity, material, and supplier cost forecasts based on market indicators, contracts, purchasing assumptions, demand, mix, and timing.
- Lead monthly and quarterly performance reviews for purchase price variance, co-manufacturer true-ups, inflation and deflation, and sourcing savings.
- Explain actual and forecast results versus budget and prior periods, identify root causes, and recommend actions to address risks or capture opportunities.
- Ensure procurement assumptions and approved savings are accurately reflected in product costs, financial forecasts, and performance reporting.
- Establish procurement financial KPIs and executive-ready reporting that connect sourcing activity to COGS, gross margin, working capital, and cash flow.
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Decision Support
- Partner with Procurement to develop and execute cost-reduction, risk mitigation, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Evaluate supplier pricing, cost breakdowns, contract terms, index mechanisms, sourcing alternatives, and negotiation scenarios.
- Lead financial analysis of supplier changes, alternate sourcing, dual sourcing, specification changes, and make-versus-buy decisions.
- Analyze the financial impact of tariffs, duties, freight terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, inventory requirements, and payment terms.
- Develop should-cost and supplier economics models that strengthen negotiation strategy and clarify value levers.
- Partner with R&D and Innovation on the cost implications of reformulations, specifications, packaging changes, and new product launches.
- Balance savings opportunities with quality, service, supply continuity, working capital, and implementation risk.
Savings Governance & Team Leadership
- Define consistent savings methodologies and baselines; quantify, validate, and track procurement initiatives from identification through realized financial impact.
- Set priorities and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and quality review for analysts supporting Sourcing and Procurement Finance.
- Partner with Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Supply Chain Finance to improve data accuracy, cost visibility, accruals, true-ups, and close processes.
- Build repeatable models, dashboards, and governance that improve the speed, transparency, and scalability of sourcing decisions.
- Advise senior Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders on material risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful experience in procurement finance, sourcing finance, supply chain finance, operations finance, or FP&A.
- Strong command of material cost forecasting, purchase price variance, COGS, gross margin, commodity exposure, inventory, and working capital.
- Demonstrated experience supporting supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing decisions, cost-reduction programs, and savings validation.
- Experience leading analysts, developing talent, and governing complex cross-functional workstreams.
- Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another inventory-intensive business strongly preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, scenario analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to challenge assumptions constructively.
- Executive-ready communication skills and the ability to influence Procurement, Finance, and operational leaders without direct authority.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills required; experience with BI tools and commodity data sources is a plus.
- Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan, or comparable platforms.
- Experience with supplier contracts, index-based pricing, tariffs, co-manufacturing true-ups, or should-cost analysis is strongly preferred.

SEASONED FOR SUCCESS:

- We try to be good team members and good communicators, but we don’t live by hierarchy and structure – everyone is a difference maker here.
- We make a lot of decisions in the face of incomplete information – our team embraces ambiguity and tries to make good decisions fast rather than great decisions slow.
- We believe our job is to take smart risk, not to eliminate risk.
- We believe in growing our skills and becoming a better company with more managerial expertise, but we are an entrepreneurial company at heart.
- We aren’t trying to be average – we want to do exceptional things, and we are willing to work hard to achieve them.
BENEFITS THAT BRING MORE TO THE TABLE:
We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, 401k, bonus / incentive eligibility, equity grants, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits, including parental leave. OUR RECIPE FOR BALANCE:
We believe great culture starts with people. We’re a people-first company built on connection, collaboration, and balance. Most of our work happens in the office to spark creativity and community, but we also offer flexibility so team members have the autonomy to work outside the office when needed to support their work-life balance and personal commitments.
