Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

The role requires building strong relationships with stakeholders within Procurement (Buyers/STA, Engineering, Suppliers), Programme Teams and other colleagues across the customer’s organisation. You will ensure that the tasks / activities & requirements to deliver the new vehicle / business programmes are understood and communicated into the Vehicle Programme & Procurement / STA Teams.

This position can be offered to limited company contractors on an initial 6 month contract.

Area of Responsibility

· Co-ordinating Procurement / STA workstreams and risk management through sourcing, releasing and industrialisation.

· Ensuring that all up-stream inputs and dependencies are in place and within the overall plan, to allow outputs to be delivered on time, in particular in relation to the launch process requirements.

· Represent the Procurement function in programme meeting cadence and ensure escalation for inputs requirements, and status on outputs are provided in accordance with Programme Requirements (e.g. supplier, part, capacity and facilities readiness)

· Ensuring that any changes to the Programme are communicated into Vehicle Programmes and Procurement / STA for impact of that change to be assessed in relation to Procurement tasks/deliverables

· Deliver projects utilising project management techniques to ensure the delivery and achievement of planned outcomes to support the achievement of strategic business objectives.

· Work on projects and work streams; from scoping to delivery and including cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management ensuring project delivery to required timescale, quality, capacity and cost.

· Management of required Governance, including milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting and risk and issue management

· Manage stakeholders to ensure projects add value and are aligned to stakeholder expectations.

Knowledge / Experience

· Methodical detailed approach to work context.

· Analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base.

· Experience of Problem Resolution using structured approaches.

· Ability to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership and responsibility for own work; fully invested in achieving a successful result.

· You view things as a team rather than individual project level, considering the wider team needs.

· Strong interpersonal/communication skills, including ability to manage/lead/support relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.

· Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred / Relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
