Senior Financial Analyst, Client News Location: New York, NY (On-site – 1515 Broadway & 524 West 57th Street) Hours: 9am–6pm | Competitive Hourly Rate up to $71.05/hrAbout the Role Join Client News as a Senior Financial Analyst and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy for one of the world’s most recognized media organizations. Reporting to the Director, Finance, you’ll drive financial planning and analysis across news operations and special events, support organizational transformation, and collaborate with high-impact teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for growth-minded finance professionals seeking visibility, autonomy, and the chance to impact live, high-profile productions.Responsibilities- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario modeling for news operations and special events- Develop, enhance, and maintain workforce planning models and headcount forecasts in collaboration with HR and department leaders- Manage departmental P&L, perform variance analysis, and deliver insights to identify risks, opportunities, and cost efficiencies- Support capital planning processes, track capital spend, and provide executive-level reporting and recommendations- Analyze and forecast cloud computing costs, licensing revenue, and other major OPEX initiatives- Prepare executive dashboards, management presentations, and ad hoc analyses using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills- Facilitate month-end close activities including accruals, journal entries, and variance reporting- Partner with cross-functional teams (Accounting, HR, Operations, Production) to improve reporting accuracy and business performance- Identify and implement process improvements for streamlined reporting and financial planningRequired Skills and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field- 4-5+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis experience- Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, Index Match, VLOOKUP, high-volume data review, modeling)- Advanced PowerPoint skills for data visualization and executive reporting- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion ERP/SmartView preferred; Hyperion, SAP considered)- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Skills- Experience in media, production, live events, or operationally intensive environments- Exposure to capital planning, large OPEX initiatives, and project financial management- Experience tracking revenue and profitability metrics- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion, Anaplan, or similar financial reporting tools- Experience managing cloud computing and technology-related operating expensesBenefits- High visibility and direct partnership with senior finance leaders- Exposure to live events and transformative media operations- Opportunity to shape financial strategy in a collaborative, fast-paced environment- Professional growth and skill development in advanced analysis, modeling, and executive reporting- Competitive compensation with potential for extension based on business needsHow to Apply Ready to advance your finance career at Client News?
