Senior Director, Fp&A

As Senior Director of FP&A, you will lead a high-performing finance team and serve as a strategic partner to the President and executive leadership team, shaping the company’s financial strategy, operating decisions, and long-term growth trajectory. You will own the P&L across all product lines, driving accountability, visibility, and informed decision-making across the portfolio. At the forefront of finance transformation, you will champion the evolution of FP&A through AI-enabled tools, automation, and scalable processes that modernize how we plan, analyze, and deliver insights.

You will report to the Vice President of Finance & Revenue Operations and be based in our New York City headquarters.

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, creating a culture of strategic thinking, operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Establish scalable FP&A practices, processes, and standards that enable the team to deliver accurate insights and meaningful business partnership
• Hire, develop and retain top talent while strengthening the capabilities required to support a growing, evolving business

Senior Advisor to the President & Executive Leadership Team

• Serve as a key strategic advisor to the President, providing financial insights, recommendations, and perspectives that shape business priorities and decisions
• Partner with the executive leadership team to evaluate the financial implications of business strategies, resource allocation decisions, investments, and key growth initiatives
• Provide actionable recommendations for executive and board level audiences aimed at helping the company achieve financial and operational objectives.  Translate complex financial and business data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for executive and board-level audiences
• Lead preparation of executive and board-level financial presentations, including monthly performance reviews and long-range planning updates
• Support M&A activity and corporate development opportunities, providing financial analysis and due diligence to inform strategic decision-making.

Product P&L Ownership & Business Performance

• Own end-to-end P&L accountability across all product lines, driving financial performance, visibility and commercial decision-making at the portfolio level
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly rolling forecast cycle, proactively identifying risks and opportunities across each business unit
• Conduct variance analysis, scenario modeling, and profitability analysis to inform pricing, investment, and resource allocation decisions
• Establish and lead the accountability framework across the organization by partnering with product and business leaders to drive profitability, optimize investments, and support data driven decisionmaking

Finance Transformation & AI

• Lead the evolution of FP&A through automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools that improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed of insight generation
• Identify opportunities to simplify and scale financial processes while reducing manual reporting and increasing time spent on strategic analysis
• Drive consistent, scalable planning and reporting practices across the organization to enable better business decisions

Who We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance,or related strategic finance roles, with experience supporting complex, multi-product businesses. 8+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams
• Proficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics
• Experience preparing and presenting financial analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to executives and senior-level stakeholders that drive business results
• Demonstrated experience applying intellectual curiosity to uncover insights and drive differentiated outcomes
• Experience developing and driving financial budgeting and forecasting
• Exceptional analytical and modeling skills with the ability to synthesize and analyze data to create useful information and concise analysis
• Demonstrated experience building scalable finance processes and driving operational improvements through technology, automation, and data-driven solutions
• Keen eye for detail while able to present macro trends to the highest levels of management
• Exceptional communication, executive presence, and storytelling skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization

Cash Compensation Range: $272,000 - 320,000

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
