FP&A Director
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary
The FP&A Director is responsible for leading the Company's financial planning and analysis function, providing strategic financial leadership, actionable business insights, and decision support to executive management. This role oversees budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, performance reporting, operational analytics, capital planning, and strategic initiatives across the organization.
The FP&A Director partners closely with operations, sales, engineering, project management, and executive leadership to improve financial performance, drive profitability, optimize resource allocation, and support long-term growth objectives.

Essential Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
•    Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range strategic planning.
•    Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
•    Create financial models to support business decisions, growth initiatives, and resource planning.
•    Evaluate financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and strategic targets.
•    Identify risks and opportunities affecting financial results.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
•    Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting packages to senior leadership.
•    Analyze revenue, margin, operating expenses, working capital, and cash flow performance.
•    Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for organizational visibility.
•    Provide variance analysis and root-cause explanations for financial results.
•    Improve reporting processes through automation and enhanced analytics.
Pricing Strategy & Leadership
•    Serve as the organizational leader for pricing strategy, governance, and profitability management.
•    Develop and maintain pricing policies, procedures, and approval frameworks that align with company profitability objectives.
•    Partner with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Executive Leadership to establish pricing strategies for equipment, projects, aftermarket services, and field service offerings.
•    Lead quote review processes for strategic, high-value, or complex customer opportunities.
•    Evaluate market dynamics, competitive intelligence, customer value propositions, and cost structures to optimize pricing decisions.
•    Develop and maintain pricing models that incorporate labor, materials, overhead, risk, market conditions, and target margins.
•    Analyze win/loss data and pricing effectiveness to improve competitive positioning and profitability.
•    Monitor price realization, margin attainment, and discounting trends across customer segments and product lines.
•    Establish pricing analytics and dashboards to measure pricing performance and identify margin improvement opportunities.
•    Ensure consistency and discipline in pricing execution across the organization.
•    Support contract negotiations by providing financial analysis, profitability assessments, and commercial recommendations.
•    Lead initiatives focused on margin expansion, value-based pricing, and commercial excellence.
•    Train and guide commercial teams on pricing methodologies, profitability drivers, and deal structuring.
•    Collaborate with supply chain and operations leaders to evaluate material cost changes and implement appropriate pricing adjustments.
•    Recommend pricing actions to mitigate inflationary pressures, supply chain disruptions, tariff impacts, and changing market conditions.
Business Partnership
•    Act as a strategic finance partner to business leaders across the organization.
•    Support operational decisions with financial analysis and actionable recommendations.
•    Collaborate with sales teams on pricing strategies, profitability analysis, and customer margin optimization.
•    Partner with project management teams to evaluate project profitability and execution performance.
•    Support manufacturing and operational leaders in driving productivity and cost improvements.
Strategic Finance
•    Conduct scenario analysis and profitability assessments for strategic opportunities.
•    Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, investments, and capital expenditure proposals.
•    Lead business case development for major initiatives.
•    Support strategic planning efforts and executive decision-making.
•    Monitor industry trends and competitive developments impacting financial performance.
Operational & Manufacturing Analysis
•    Analyze manufacturing performance, labor utilization, productivity, and overhead absorption.
•    Support inventory management and working capital optimization initiatives.
•    Monitor project backlog, bookings, revenue forecasts, and project execution metrics.
•    Evaluate operational efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.
•    Collaborate with operations leadership to improve margins and financial performance.
Leadership & Team Development
•    Lead and develop FP&A team members.
•    Establish best practices for financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
•    Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
•    Build strong relationships across departments and leadership teams.

Qualifications
Education
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
•    MBA, CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
Experience
•    10+ years of progressive finance experience.
•    5+ years in FP&A leadership roles.
•    Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, industrial, EPC, or project-based businesses preferred.
•    Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
•    Demonstrated success partnering with senior executives and operational leaders.
•    Experience developing and implementing KPI-driven performance management frameworks.
•    Experience presenting financial results and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, boards of directors, or private equity stakeholders.

Technical Skills
•    Advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilities.
•    Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost structures.
•    Expertise with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
•    Advanced Excel skills required.
•    Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement analysis.
