We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to support the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on accounting professional with extensive multi-state accounting experience and expertise in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting operational efficiency and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger activity, payroll allocations, and month-end close processes.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reviews, and cash flow tracking.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
- Monitor multi-state accounting activities and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting support, forecasting, and operational reporting.
- Review and allocate corporate credit card expenses and maintain expense management processes.
- Coordinate inventory tracking, purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and procurement reporting (preferred).
- Assist with special projects and provide accounting support across departments as needed.
- Serve as a trusted accounting resource by providing timely and accurate financial information.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger management, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Multi-state accounting experience required.
- Experience allocating and analyzing credit card expenses; construction payroll experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Inventory management and purchasing experience preferred.
