Senior Accountant

HornBill's client, a leading publicly traded technology firm based in New York City, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant. Duties Include:

• Report to Director of Accounting and interface with the Assistant Controllers, the Controller, and Internal Audit Department
• Perform accounting/internal control reviews at many financial reporting locations
• Gain detailed understanding of business, including major programs/products, and evaluation of the reliability of financial information, business processes and internal control documentation
• Evaluate compliance with contract accounting GAAP, including review of unit-of-accounting determination, revenue recognition method selected, actual job cost accumulation, net realizable value of inventory, and appropriateness of unbilled, billings-in-excess, accrued warranties, and loss contract reserves
• Develop working relationships with divisional and/or group management
• Monitor and analyze the quarterly financial results at reporting locations within assigned business operating groups
• Perform P&L and B/S variance analysis; additionally, review major JE's, reserves, and perform other analyses for quarterly SEC financial reporting for reporting locations within assigned business operating sectors
• Ad hoc special projects as required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting with strong academic accomplishments
• Must be a CPA or actively pursuing CPA
• 3-4 years of experience with 2 years in public accounting, highly prefer "Big 4" experience
