Senior Accountant

HornBill has a client seeking a Senior Accountant in Herndon, Virginia (VA). Responsibilities:

• Prepare all accounting entries, including accruals, in accordance with the month end close calendar and US GAAP; record transactions in the G/L
• Enter the monthly results into Magnitude consolidation package and validate
• Prepare monthly financial statements including AR and AP Agings, Revenue Flash, Reserves schedule, and Deferred Revenue schedule; perform variance analysis; reconcile key Balance Sheet Accounts
• Prepare day-3 summary of results
• Review traffic reports from sales to make monthly revenue and termination cost accruals
• Propose reserves to be booked in the month and get approvals for write-offs
• Calculate monthly inter-entity transfer pricing agreement accruals; record and reconcile LOSHA and Distribution Agreements
• Verify and record HRSA Agreement chargebacks received
• Monitor and maintain Intercompany service agreements with group companies
• Initiate issuance of annual SOFs, recalculate chargebacks and reconcile intercompany balances with group companies
• Approximately 10% of time spent on managing collection of receivables from customers and working closely with sales to follow up on issues; monitor customer balances and activity on a daily basis and interface with customers at a high level to ensure timely debt collection
• Prepare annual budget and forecast for the entity and report the data in Magnitude consolidation package
• 10% of time allocated to maintaining the G/L and reporting financial results of holding companies
• Request and track USF certificates from customers annually
• Respond to requests for annual audit
• Respond to requests from tax department related to annual tax filing
• Prepare revenue schedule for tax department by foreign/domestic (to include city/state for domestic), this is a manual process which includes reviewing SOFs and invoices

• BS in Accounting
• CPA or MS/MBA in Accounting preferred
• Minimum 5-7 years accounting experience
