Senior Accountant

HornBill has a client seeking a Senior Accountant in Elmwood Park, New Jersey (NJ). This position reports into the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for several areas of the monthly close. The Senior Accountant would also be involved in process improvement projects, analytical assignments, financial reporting and treasury management. Responsibilities:

• Record journal entries and review transactions for proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as part of the monthly close process
• Assist with financial reporting
• Assist with treasury function management
• Prepare and assist with providing support for annual audit requests
• Analyze financial results and perform variance analysis
• Maintains compliance with internal controls and SOX procedures
• Assist with ad hoc projects

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree a plus
• CPA preferred
• 3-7 years of public/private accounting experience, Big 4 experience preferred
• Strong ability to problem solve and perform analysis
• Strong computer skills specifically Excel
• Good communication skills
