Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic operation accounting team. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for data automation, and the ability to assess and communicate the accounting impact of new products and business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations.
- Independently manage complex accounting tasks and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new products, services, and business models.
- Monitor subledger systems and ensure accurate, timely integration with the general ledger.
- Design and implement automated solutions to streamline accounting workflows.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and documentation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and data automation tools (e.g., Alteryx,
- Power Query, Python) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with accounting subledger system implementation is highly desirable.
