Senior Accountant

Key Deliverables

• Work closely with acquired companies to support accounting activities including invoice processing, accounts payable, vendor payments, billings & collections, fixed assets, reconciliations and ROUs journal entries.
• Monthly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP
• Optimize, develop, and monitor adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls

Position Responsibilities

• Ensure accounting of month-end close responsibilities are completed timely; implement robust processes to ensure financial statement integrity, including balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement analysis
• Making monthly compensation and benefits journal entries during month end close
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost savings
• Review AP/AR and WIP schedules
• Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations and coordinating with external auditors to ensure successful engagement
• Support team with key strategic and process improvement initiatives
• Assist with new financial technology implementations as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Minimum

• 3+ years of prior accounting experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
• Able to communicate accounting and financial information using common language
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
• Excellent organization and priority setting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail with high accuracy
• Highly motivated, able to take initiative, and comfortable working independently
• Thrives in a fast pace, entrepreneurial environment
• Positive attitude, team player, works collaboratively
• Impeccable integrity and ethical standards

Preferred

• Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum and Build Ops
• Experience with Construction/Contractor accounting
• Familiar with ASC 606 and ASC 842
