Senior Accountant

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company’s future.  Candidate will be a member of the Accounting department and will work alongside the rest of the team to create accurate and timely results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain fixed assets, using Sage software.
• Maintain operating & finance leases, using Lease Accelerator.
• Research & make necessary adjustments to maintain an accurate inventory subledger.
• Assist with back-office support of annual physical inventory counts.
• Assist in the month-end closing process.
• Complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
• Work with the rest of the accounting department to review and research variances within the financial data and make correcting entries if necessary.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
• Ensure that internal controls are appropriately designed and operating effectively.
• Execute ad-hoc financial/quantitative analysis and various requests in support of business unit and corporate executives

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / TRAINING

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
• In depth working knowledge of General Ledger
• Mfg. experience a plus
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ERP System Functionality
• Ability to be adaptive to frequent changes in priorities, organization and strategy; flexible to meet critical deadlines with short lead times
• A proactive, independent thinker who can figure things out with limited direction
• Effective oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to efficiently communicate financial results to both financially and non-financially oriented persons
• A leader that can work with a team and quickly establish themselves as a competent individual who is on the upper trajectory to management
