Senior Accountant
Position Overview
The Senior Accountant is a hands-on, full-cycle accounting role responsible for the accuracy and integrity of Brinkmann Pumps' financial operations. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will manage accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting — while serving as a key liaison to the German parent company on intercompany transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys broad scope and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Process supplier invoices and submit payments via ACH; record related transactions in the ERP system
• Prepare intercompany payments to parent company in Germany
• Enter incoming payments (check, ACH, credit card); manage customer collections and issue credits
• Email invoices to customers and maintain AR aging
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
• Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial statements
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes; prepare audit schedules
• Manage fixed asset accounting: monthly depreciation, additions, and disposals
• Oversee inventory accounting and maintain accurate asset records
Banking, Cash & Compliance
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage online banking activity
• Develop and maintain cash forecasts
• Coordinate tax reporting and payments with outside accounting firm
• Support budgeting and rolling forecast processes
Qualifications — Required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle AP/AR and general ledger
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Valid driver's license and current passport (occasional travel required)
Qualifications — Preferred
• Public accounting experience (CPA or CPA candidate a plus)
• Experience working with a German or European parent company / intercompany accounting
• Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory valuation in a manufacturing context
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is a plus
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex financial data
