Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports To: Sr. Director, Controller
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Baltimore, MD (Oriole Park at Camden Yards) Position Summary:The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and providing financial reporting and analysis that informs strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical skills and a passion for excellence. Responsibilities:

Lead the ballpark event accounting and reporting
Involvement with the partnerships invoicing and accounts receivable aging
Prepare entries for debt accounting and recording on interest and other related charges
Ensure proper accounting of intercompany expenses
Prepare fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and prepaid/amortization schedules
Lead and participate in month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation with the goal of getting to a 10-day close
Ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries
Apply strong knowledge of debits and credits to support accurate and compliant financial statements
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate across departments to gather financial data and provide guidance as needed
Assist with special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and financial modeling as needed

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
CPA certification
Minimum 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
High degree of integrity and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in professional sports, entertainment, or hospitality industries
Familiarity with MLB financial policies, revenue sharing, and league reporting requirements
Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken)
Excellent understanding of finance principles and comfortable with making assumptions and projections to support sourcing decisions.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and records.

Work Environment:

This position is based on site in Baltimore, MD
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required during the season or fiscal deadlines
