Responsibilities

• Oversee daily room inventory, occupancy levels, and room status management to ensure optimal operational efficiency
• Manage and optimise room revenue through strategic pricing, forecasting, and yield management initiatives
• Supervise and coordinate the housekeeping and maintenance teams, including staff scheduling, induction, and performance management
• Monitor and maintain the highest standards of room cleanliness, maintenance, and guest-ready conditions across all guest rooms
• Liaise with the Front Office and Guest Services teams to ensure seamless communication and exceptional guest experiences
• Analyse occupancy data, revenue reports, and key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvements
• Address and resolve guest complaints and maintenance issues promptly and professionally
• Manage room maintenance requests and coordinate with engineering and housekeeping departments
• Maintain accurate records of room status, maintenance schedules, and inventory within the property management system
• Conduct regular quality assurance inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Fairmont standards
• Prepare detailed reports on room operations, occupancy rates, and revenue performance for management review
• Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to support promotional activities and special events
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols throughout the rooms division

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Rooms Controller or similar rooms division management role within a luxury hotel environment
• Proven experience in room inventory management, occupancy forecasting, and yield management
• Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience with housekeeping and maintenance personnel
• Strong proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and hotel management software
• Excellent knowledge of revenue management principles and pricing strategies
• Solid understanding of health, safety, and security protocols within hospitality operations
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments
