Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the Full-Time Revenue Accountant position in the Business Office of the Administrative Services Division. This position is located at ATC’s Main Campus, which is just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under direct supervision of the Accounting Director, the Full-Time Revenue Accountant supports the Business Office by ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with state accounting policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Records financial transactions, such as revenue receipts into journals, ledgers and/or automated accounting systems.
• Categorizes into accounts and resolves recording errors; Assigns accounting codes.
• Compiles data and prepares standard accounting reports such as PELL and HOPE spreadsheets for revenue journal entries.
• Balances and reconciles accounting records, such as journals, ledgers, batch reports bank statements, technical college specific reports or related documents (student financial aid checks, refund checks).
• Receives controls and records cash, checks, credit card receipts.
• Assumes responsibility for post award grant accounting thus ensuring compliance with funding source administrative guidelines, timely receipt of revenue.
• Coordinates with independent, regulatory and third-party auditors in conducting audits by explaining accounting practices and systems, preparing requested materials and ensuring availability as necessary.
• Ensures account data accuracy and maintains accounting file information.
• Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work.
• Operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior; and
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; OR an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field AND two (2) years of directly related accounting work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate a Master’s degree or higher in Accounting, and three (3) or more years of professional accounting experience.
