We are seeking a Regional Controller to serve as a key financial partner supporting our operations across the Atlanta, Athens, and Marietta markets. In this role, you will own the full accounting cycle — from journal entries and reconciliations to month-end close and variance analysis — while ensuring compliance with Five Star's accounting procedures and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, work papers, accruals and variance analysis
Assist with month, quarter, and year end close
Work with operations to ensure accurate accruals and financials
Ensures compliance with Five Star accounting procedures
Using Excel and other applications
Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger
This person will have to travel to their Atlanta, Athens, and Marietta locations frequently.
Additional functions:
Prepare and gather supporting documentation and explanations for monthly financial reporting, budgeting/forecast, and analysis for Senior Management
Assists in development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting controls
Assist in collecting data to determine costs of business activity as required
Maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage workload and prioritize job tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Comply with corporate policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field and two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with GAAP.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be able to consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
