General Scope of Job The Division Controller is responsible for the overall management, direction, and integrity of the accounting and financial reporting function, including robust balance sheet controls and thorough understanding of the profit and loss statement. The Division Controller leads initiatives to drive and measure process and within the department (accurate and timely financial statements). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage month-end close procedures ensuring accurate recording of revenue, manufacturing cost, and expense across all Business Unit facilities and Product Lines Develop a robust internal control framework and ensure compliance throughout the Business Unit operations. Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts monthly Deliver Quarterly & Annual Accounting Operations Reviews with Chief Accounting Officer & Assistant Corporate Controller Lead Cash Management for Business Unit, includes indirect management of Shared Service resources (AR/AP Analysts) and collaboration with Director of AP/AR Build and maintain relationship with Pregis Accounting network to drive adoption of best practices. Monitor and work with cross functional business partners on Continuous Improvement initiatives to create efficient and effective processes. Lead business unit requirements for annual external audit ensuring actions put in place to mitigate and/or remediate audit risk. Actively engage in the professional development of staff providing opportunities for growth. Ad-hoc analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business needs. Ensure completion of weekly reviews of production order variances to identify unusual variances, report root causes, and drive remediation where applicable. Support the annual budget process as a key member of the Accounting & Finance Team Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CPA/CMA strong plus/preferred. 7+ years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibility in accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of GAAP. Large scale ERP experience required. SAP experience a strong plus. Multi-site experience preferred. Strong MS Excel skills required.
