We also offer solutions using vacuum and high vacuum technologies for traditional and high-tech industries in the energy and aerospace sectors, as well as scientific experimentation.   Purpose of the Role The Senior Accountant provides high-level accounting support within the GBS organization, acting as a key reference point for complex topics and supporting the wider accounting team. This role requires experience in IFRS, internal controls, and advanced reconciliation, including intercompany and fixed assets, within GBS or shared services environments. Supervises, guides, and supports a small team of 3-4 Accountants, ensuring quality of work, task prioritization, and day-to-day operational support. Maintains and reviews general ledger entries, performs advanced balance sheet reconciliations including intercompany and fixed assets, ensuring IFRS compliance. Owns and manages reconciliation processes ensuring proper documentation for audit readiness at all times. Drives timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, working effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves complex accounting discrepancies, escalating risks or deviations proactively to the Team Leader. Supports internal and external audits, providing accurate documentation and clear responses to audit queries. Monitors compliance with internal controls and IFRS standards, identifying gaps and proposing improvements. Promotes knowledge sharing and best practices within the team, identifying process improvement and automation opportunities. Qualifications & Skills University degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum 10 years of experience as Senior Accountant in a GBS, BSSC, or international corporate environment. Fluent English; strong ERP. Experience in internal controls and Blackline or similar tool is a plus. Availability to travel ( approximately 20% ) when required (HQ in Germany/Switzerland).
