Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Specialist Location: Hillsboro, OR, 97124 (Onsite) Job Type: ContractAbout the Role As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes by delivering accurate cost analysis and inventory oversight. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic contract environment. This position offers exposure to advanced ERP systems and the opportunity to make a direct impact on operational decision-making.Responsibilities- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial transaction recording and general ledger reconciliation.- Conduct in-depth analysis of production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to identify efficiency opportunities.- Supervise inventory levels, reconcile discrepancies, and deliver accurate valuations to minimize waste and prevent shortages.- Prepare and present detailed manufacturing cost reports, offering actionable insights to support senior management decisions.- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements; respond to audit requests with complete documentation.- Monitor and analyze cost variances, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to meet budget targets.- Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.Required Skills and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment- Advanced understanding of financial and cost accounting principles- Proficiency in ERP systems (QAD or Oracle Hyperion preferred)- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting- Strong communication and presentation abilities- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and partner with operational teamsPreferred Skills- Experience with complex manufacturing environments- Exposure to internal audits and regulatory compliance processes- Adaptability in ambiguous, fast-paced settingsBenefits- Opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and advanced ERP technologies- Professional growth through cross-department collaboration and project leadership- Competitive compensation and exposure to best practices in manufacturing accountingHow to ApplyReady to elevate your accounting career?
