- Develop and maintain food safety and quality programs (HACCP, GMP, SOPs, SSOPs, allergen control).
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF/BRC, and customer requirements through audits, inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Lead customer, regulatory, and certification audits; manage responses and corrective actions.
- Track and analyze quality data, non-conformance trends, and root causes; implement CAPAs.
- Supervise and train QA and sanitation staff to ensure consistent execution of procedures.
- Work with production, sanitation, and maintenance teams to identify risks and improve processes.
- Act as primary contact for customer complaints and quality/regulatory issues.
- Maintain documentation systems for traceability, labeling, specifications, and certifications.
- Stay updated on food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Lead mock recalls, traceability exercises, and emergency/crisis preparedness activities.
- Manage supplier quality programs and oversee food defense and food fraud prevention.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field
- 5+ years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing or repackaging
- At least 2+ years in a leadership role
- HACCP and food safety certification required (e.g., SQF Practitioner, PCQI)
- Experience with SQF, BRC, GFSI, or similar certification programs
- Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, and FSMA food safety regulations
- Preferred experience in USDA-regulated facilities with FSIS interaction
- Proven ability to lead audits and manage quality assurance programs
