Project Scheduler & Controller

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler & Controller to join our Strategic Project Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will support a large electric utility client in the Pacific Northwestern US. As a project controller, You'll play a key role in driving creative Project Management Solutions for Leidos' utility client, providing support to the PMO group for project scheduling and controls functions. The position will focus largely on construction scheduling, work planning, and project tracking. At times, the position will also need to be able to help with and maintain project forecasts and material tracking. As a Leidos employee, you can look forward to a collaborative culture, as well as managers who will encourage career development and growth opportunities , including: Project Management Professional (PMP) Formal Mentorship programs Developmental Leadership training Technical Upskilling Opportunities Management opportunities Key Responsibilities will include : Developing, maintaining and driving engineering and construction schedules for various projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utility client Work with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits Partner closely with Project Management, Engineering Leads, Managers, Construction teams, and other client stakeholders to track and execute client deliverables Develop and produce schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review: which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items and risk analysis Interfacing directly with the client on a daily basis to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electric utility projects Assist the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking Supporting project teams with material tracking Required Qualifications: Mid-Level: 4-7 years of relevant project scheduling experience Senior-Level: 7-10 years of relevant project scheduling experience (Pay ranges will be commensurate with candidate experience) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required Demonstrated experience working with scheduling software such as MS Project Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task effectively Ability to report to downtown Seattle office on a hyrbid work schedule, and ability to travel to project sites as needed (likely ~5-10%) Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services Experience working with US electric utilities Strong attention to detail, particularly with complex documents, forecasts, and project information. Comfort learning and using a variety of software and systems, such as UI Planner, SmartSheet, and budgeting/financial software. Flexibility and adaptability, as the role may initially focus on one area of work and evolve based on the needs and priories of the organization.
