Position Description:

The Project Financial Analyst supports project delivery teams by providing financial oversight, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with CGI Federal standards and client requirements. This role partners closely with Project Managers, PMO Leads, Talent Planning, and other operational stakeholders to monitor project health, drive financial accuracy, and support strategic decision making.
This position is located in our Fairfax,VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

.    Manage and monitor project financials including budgets, forecasts, revenue, cost tracking, margins, and funding levels.
.    Support project lifecycle financial management, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and CGI Federal's financial governance standards.
.    Develop, analyze, and maintain monthly financial reports, dashboards, and client deliverables, supporting PMO leads and project leadership.
.    Conduct variance analysis and present findings to project leadership with recommended corrective actions.
.    Review and support billing activities (including IPAC, AR/AP, and automated billing workflows), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
.    Partner with Project Managers to develop financial operation plans, resource forecasts and planning, subcontractor oversight, and contract modifications.
.    Assist in proposal and business development efforts by contributing financial estimates, pricing support, and analytical inputs.
.    Maintain compliance with audit requirements, internal controls, billing templates, and financial documentation standards.
.    Work closely with PMO Leads, Talent Planning, HR, and delivery teams on forecasting resource needs, staffing changes, and cost impacts.
.    Support internal and external stakeholders by providing clear, timely communication regarding financial status, risks, and opportunities.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

.    7-10 years demonstrable experience in project financial management and federal contracting (e.g., Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, IDIQ, Cost Reimbursement)
.     Strong analytical abilities, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial systems, and data tools 
.    Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, assess risks, and communicate insights to leadership.
.    Experience with budget management, invoice processing, revenue tracking, and cost reconciliation.
.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on accuracy and clarity.
.    Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced credentials preferred.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $58,000.00 $136,200.00.
