We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our growing operations team. This individual will play a critical role in managing the purchasing process, maintaining strong supplier relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring products are sourced efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively.
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing purchasing activities from order placement through delivery, while working closely with vendors and internal teams to ensure product availability meets customer demand. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with previous procurement or purchasing experience in a distribution, healthcare, manufacturing, wholesale, or similar environment.
This role requires someone who understands the importance of strategic purchasing, vendor management, and inventory control. Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for inventory, supplies, and operational purchases.
- Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shortages, delays, and excess stock.
- Monitor purchasing trends and forecast inventory requirements based on sales demand and operational needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to improve supplier relationships, pricing, availability, and purchasing terms.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing agreements with suppliers.
- Coordinate with warehouse, sales, customer service, and operations teams to support inventory availability.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, product quality, and overall service levels.
- Resolve purchasing discrepancies, shipment delays, invoice issues, and product-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier documentation, and inventory data.
- Analyze purchasing data and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Assist with inventory planning, forecasting, and optimization initiatives.
- Support internal teams by ensuring required products and materials are available when needed.
- Ensure procurement activities follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Stay current on supplier markets, product availability, pricing trends, and industry developments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management is required.
- Experience within healthcare, medical equipment, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, vendor management, and inventory control.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Comfortable working with purchasing systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.

Compensation & Benefits
