Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will compile and analyze information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Accountabilities:
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for production materials, supplies and services to support production schedules and business requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing records, reports, and pricing information to ensure accuracy and support procurement activities.
- Prepare Requests for Quote (RFQs) and solicit competitive bids from qualified suppliers in accordance with Dee Zee purchasing procedures.
- Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding purchase order status, changes, and cancellations.
- Review purchase orders to ensure accuracy, appropriate terminology, and correct specifications.
- Solicit competitive quotations from qualified suppliers to support sourcing decisions and cost-effective purchasing.
- Accurately maintain purchasing transactions and data using Dee Zee's ERP system and other business applications.
- Calculate and communicate cost changes to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, late shipments and other supply issues.
- Evaluate inventory levels and demand forecasts to determine when new purchase orders or changes to existing orders are required.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' related experience required.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize Dee Zee's ERP system and other business applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to supporting Dee Zee's environmental initiatives through continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Business or a related field preferred.
