A growing food manufacturing company is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the lead finance partner for one of its largest production facilities. This is a highly visible role supporting a plant undergoing significant growth, operational investment, and finance transformation initiatives.
The Plant Controller will work closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to improve financial visibility, strengthen inventory and costing processes, enhance reporting, and help build the operational finance infrastructure needed to support continued expansion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations, solving problems, and creating scalable processes in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities
- Manage month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle count processes, and inventory valuation
- Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies and variance analysis reporting
- Analyze production yields, material usage, labor efficiency, scrap, and other operational performance drivers
- Partner closely with plant leadership to identify cost reduction and operational improvement opportunities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Improve financial controls, reporting processes, and data accuracy
- Assist with ERP and systems improvement initiatives
- Support capital project analysis, fixed asset accounting, and investment tracking
- Serve as the primary finance liaison between plant operations and corporate leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, food, beverage, packaging, or process manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis
- Experience supporting plant operations and working cross-functionally with manufacturing leadership
- ERP experience required; implementation or system conversion experience is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- CPA, CMA, or other professional certification preferred but not required

Compensation: Approximately $135,000 base salary, plus bonus and benefits.
