Temporary Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Temporary | Full-time, On-site Position | 2-Month Assignment | $28$38 per hour | Monday–Friday

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned payroll professional to join our team on a temporary basis while a team member is on leave. This is a two-month, full-time, in-office position covering our payroll and benefits function. We need someone who can step in confidently and independently from day one. ADP Workforce Now expertise is not a nice-to-have here, it is a requirement. If you know the system inside and out and thrive in a fast-paced, people-centered environment, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the full payroll cycle in ADP Workforce Now with accuracy and on time, every time

• Process multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees including off-cycle runs as needed

• Administer employee benefits including enrollments, changes, terminations and carrier coordination

• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes including system setup and final pay processing

• Assist with employee file projects and records organization

• Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations including Washington State requirements

• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure payroll data integrity and timely reporting

What You Must Bring

• Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in ADP Workforce Now payroll processing, this is non-negotiable

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a practitioner role

• Ability to work fully independently with no ramp-up time required

• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax withholding, garnishments and wage and hour law

• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy under deadline

• Professional, discreet, and trustworthy with sensitive employee information

Nice to Have

• Benefits administration experience including open enrollment and carrier management

• Experience with onboarding and offboarding workflows in ADP

• Familiarity with Washington State PFML, L&I, and related compliance requirements

• Prior HR generalist or HR coordinator experience

• Experience in aviation, transportation, or a similarly dynamic operational environment
