Position Overview
Goodin Company is seeking a Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Specialist to oversee payroll administration, employee benefits, and key HR operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring payroll accuracy, benefits compliance, and effective HR processes while serving as a knowledgeable resource for employees and leaders. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and apply HR expertise to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and review payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
- Manage weekly and bi-weekly payroll
- Serve as a payroll and benefits subject‑matter resource for internal stakeholders.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including open enrollment and carrier coordination.
- Analyze payroll, benefits, and compliance issues and recommend process improvements.
- Serve as a main point of contact between our HR team and our third party leave administrators
- Maintain HR records and reporting within Paycom.
- Perform weekly and monthly audits pertaining to benefit plans to ensure accuracy within the HRIS system.
- Support compliance with federal and Minnesota employment and labor laws.
- Partner with HR leadership, Learning & Development, and management on onboarding, training, and employee communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management
- 3+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience in an HR environment
- Knowledge of federal and Minnesota employment and wage‑and‑hour laws
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Strong judgment, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and manage sensitive information with discretion.
