Position Summary The Benefits & Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, employee benefits, and HRIS records using Dayforce. This position ensures compliance with applicable employment standards, payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies while providing exceptional service to employees across the organization. Working closely with Human Resources and Finance, this role supports the complete employee lifecycle, from onboarding through retirement or termination, ensuring employees are paid correctly and receive the benefits they deserve.

What You'll Do

Payroll Administration

Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on schedule using Dayforce. Review, verify, and reconcile employee timecards and attendance records. Process new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, wage adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay. Ensure payroll deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit premiums are processed accurately. Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs), year-end tax documents, and payroll reporting. Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate payroll discrepancies. Maintain payroll records in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements.

Benefits Administration

Administer employee benefit programs including:

Health & Dental Vision Care Life Insurance Disability Programs Retirement Savings Plans (RRSP/401(k)) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Wellness Programs

Coordinate benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Liaise with insurance carriers and benefit providers. Process leaves of absence and ensure continuation of benefits where applicable. Respond to employee questions regarding benefit eligibility and coverage. Audit benefit billing and reconcile invoices.

HRIS Administration (Dayforce)

Maintain accurate employee records in Dayforce. Perform HRIS audits to ensure data integrity. Support system testing, updates, and new feature implementations. Generate reports and dashboards for HR and leadership. Assist with workflow improvements and system optimization.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with:

Employment Standards Payroll legislation Income tax regulations Privacy legislation Company policies

Prepare payroll and benefits reports for Finance and HR. Support internal and external payroll audits. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.

Employee Support

Respond promptly to payroll and benefit inquiries. Educate employees on benefit programs and payroll processes. Assist employees with Dayforce self-service. Deliver professional, confidential, and customer-focused service.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field. 3–5 years of payroll and benefits administration experience. Hands-on experience with Dayforce (Ceridian Dayforce). Payroll compliance knowledge. Strong understanding of employee benefit administration. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or equivalent. Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation is considered an asset. Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience supporting multiple locations. Knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. payroll legislation. HRIS implementation or systems administration experience.
