Operation Finance Manager, Center of Excellence

As the Operations Finance Manager, Center of Excellence, you will oversee the Operations Finance Center of Excellence, with the primary goal of enhancing the efficiency of Operations Finance. Your main responsibilities will include standardizing Operations Finance processes, spearheading automation initiatives, and developing standardized reports to support strategic decision-making within PPG Operations. Additionally, you will oversee a centralized Costing support team.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Operations Finance. You will be based in our General Office in Pittsburgh, PA and follow our hybrid work policy.

Main responsibilities:

• Oversee and develop the USCA Costing support team based in Querétaro, along with the another Operations Finance Center of Excellence support member.

• Manage the transition of Costing procedures and analysis to the USCA Costing team.

• Develop strategies to streamline, document, and implement process enhancements for key Operations Accounting activities.

• Collaborate with the IT department to drive increased automation within Operations Finance processes.

• Lead operational standardization initiatives, including costing, Strategic Business Unit allocations, and the implementation of the new inventory excess and obsolescence policy and tool on a global scale.

• Partner with Operations Finance Managers to establish a comprehensive training program for current and future team members, ensuring effective onboarding and ongoing development.

• Monitor closing activities specifically focusing on inventory and costing complexities, including journal entries, analysis, and reporting, while identifying opportunities for optimization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

• 5+ years Operations Finance or Cost Accounting experience required

• We prefer experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning systems, such as Oracle or SAP, and technical proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.

• Willingness to travel 5 to 10 percent
