Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and rigorous Junior Tax Analyst Apprentice to join the France Tax Team in Massy. This apprenticeship is designed for a student following a high-quality tax law curriculum who is eager to develop strong technical tax skills in a large international group environment.
The apprentice will support the French tax team and contribute to operational and technical workstreams for France and EMEA, including tax input on tenders and commercial contracts, corporate income tax compliance, preparation of French tax packages, technical research and internal tax memoranda.
The role offers direct exposure to practical corporate tax matters, cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Treasury and business teams, and the opportunity to understand how a listed multinational group manages tax risk, compliance and business support.
About the Team
The France Tax Team is part of the Group Finance function and supports Viridien’s French entities as well as wider EMEA business activities. The team works closely with local finance teams, legal and commercial departments, shared services, external advisors and other corporate functions to ensure tax compliance, manage tax risks and provide practical support to business operations.
The team culture is collaborative, demanding and supportive. We value technical excellence, curiosity, clear communication, active listening and a willingness to learn. The apprentice will be integrated into the day-to-day work of the team and will receive guidance and feedback to progressively build autonomy and professional judgement.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the France Tax Team with the preparation and review of French corporate tax compliance deliverables, including tax returns, supporting schedules and tax packages (liasses fiscales), under the supervision of the team.
Support EMEA business teams on tax aspects of tenders and calls for bids, including preliminary tax analysis, identification of tax assumptions, risk points and information required from internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the review of commercial contracts from a tax perspective, including withholding tax, VAT, permanent establishment, invoicing flows, tax gross-up clauses, documentation requirements and other relevant tax considerations.
Prepare first drafts of internal technical tax memoranda and position papers on French and international tax topics, based on legal research, official guidance, case law and internal facts.
Perform tax research and monitoring on relevant French, EU and international tax developments and summarise the potential impact for the group in a clear and operational format.
Assist with tax audits, internal controls and documentation requests by collecting information, preparing supporting files and maintaining an audit trail of analyses performed.
Support the team in the coordination of tax information with Finance, Legal, Treasury, Accounting and operational teams, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication.
Help improve internal tax processes, templates and knowledge management tools to promote consistency, efficiency and traceability within the team.
Develop a practical understanding of how tax matters are managed within a large international company, including governance, risk management, compliance deadlines and interaction with business priorities.
