We’re looking for a Junior Financial Accountant (Part-Qualified/Graduate)

Based in Dublin reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be an integral part of the finance team and will assist in achieving departmental objectives in a dynamic and deadline driven environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are keen on a career in finance within a growing multi-national (re)insurance operation with a strong presence in Dublin.

Responsibilities will include providing accurate, timely and meaningful financial, management and regulatory information to members of the finance team and wider company.

 What you will do

• Work with the finance team to issue financial, regulatory and management reports to a high quality and on a timely basis
• Assist the finance team with the completion of the monthly and quarterly close process
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepare reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts
• Prepare general ledger posting transactions
• Assist with VAT calculations
• Assist with maintenance and development of systems and internal controls
• Strive for efficiencies in the finance function and add value to the business whenever possible.

What you require for the role

• A numerate individual with a relevant university degree seeking to obtain a professionally recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to work to deadlines
• A motivated self-starter
• Team player but able to work towards individual targets
• Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient Microsoft Office – in particular, Microsoft Excel
