IT Business & Financial Analyst

Overview

We are seeking an IT Business & Financial Analyst to support financial and operational processes within an IT Technology Operations organization. This role will help manage budgets, invoices, purchase orders, procurement, reporting, and day-to-day administrative activities.

The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, comfortable working independently, and able to quickly research and learn new processes. This position serves as a key connection between IT teams and Finance, helping ensure accurate financial tracking, timely invoice processing, and alignment between forecasts and actual spending.

Duties

• Process and manage IT invoices, purchase orders, and related requests.

• Support budget administration, financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Prepare reports and analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making.

• Assist with procurement of IT hardware, software, and other operational expenses.

• Research information and processes to support RFP preparation and other business initiatives.

• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established financial and procurement procedures.

• Work with IT, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain timely workflows.

• Participate in status meetings and provide administrative and operational support as needed.

• Independently research and learn new processes, tools, and procedures within tight deadlines.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, financial analysis, IT administration, procurement, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience working with large data sets.

• Experience with budgeting, invoice management, financial reporting, or procurement processes.

• Advanced or strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to work independently with limited guidance and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to research unfamiliar processes and quickly learn new systems and procedures.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting financial or administrative functions within an IT organization.

• Experience with SAP VIM, SAP Ariba/Guided Buying, or ServiceNow.

• Experience in the telecommunications or financial services industries.

• Experience supporting RFP preparation, budgeting, or procurement analysis.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted research and productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot.

• Experience working with knowledge bases, process documentation, or self-service resources.
