Accounting/Finance internship provides exposure to the inner workings of finance and accounting, equipping you with the technical and supporting skills to succeed and grow in your career.

In this role, you’ll support the Finance team to strengthen the organization's financial integrity, business processes, and system of internal controls by working on financial projects and providing accounting support, insight, and recommendations.

This 22-week internship is offered at 24 or 40 hours per week, based on the candidate's availability.

Key Learning Goals:

The goal of this internship is to provide you with immersive learning and real-world experience through impactful work. By the end of your internship, you will be able to:

• Expand Accounting Fundamentals - Learn the monthly and annual accounting cycle by completing account reconciliations and supporting schedules, accounting entries, and financial reports to develop core accounting skills. Leverage technology to improve processes.
• Participate in internal process improvements - Learn how document and analyze workflows (e.g., internal controls, accounting policies, systems, and procedures) and implement solutions to strengthen the team.
• Build Critical Skills - Goals will be developed to help you sharpen the soft skills crucial for success like project management, collaboration, and business communications.

Responsibilities:

As the Accounting/Finance Intern, you will work on projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance Department including:

• Review and improve internal controls
• Analysis and implementation of cost savings initiatives
• Accounting operations process and related technology improvements

Programming:

• Participate in a robust onboarding experience
• Professional development: on-the-job training, workforce readiness training, formal performance review feedback sessions, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university, or graduated within the past 18 months
• Available 24-hours or 40-hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. throughout the internship
• Interest in pursuing a career in accounting/finance or admission into a graduate business program
• Completed introductory coursework in finance or accounting (e.g., financial accounting, audit, information systems)
• Familiar with and willing to learn fundamental accounting, internal control, and auditing concepts
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Effective problem solver requires strong coordination and communication skills
• Objective and curious
• Interest in financial systems and creating efficiency using technology
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook, including AI tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous finance or accounting internship or experience
