Role Summary
The Accounting & Finance Intern will support the Finance team by assisting with accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis activities. This position provides hands-on experience in a dynamic aerospace and technology environment, allowing the intern to develop practical accounting and finance skills while contributing to the organization's financial processes and strategic decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting, and other day-to-day accounting activities.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Assist with maintaining financial records, documentation, and supporting schedules.
• Compile, organize, and analyze financial data for reporting and business decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, dashboards, and presentations.
• Conduct research and analysis to support finance, accounting, and operational initiatives.
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support business objectives.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required to perform the responsibilities of this role.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred

• Coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, corporate finance, economics, or related subjects.
• Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
• Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP platforms, or financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, formulas, and data analysis functions.
• Previous internship, work experience, leadership activities, or academic projects related to accounting or finance.
• Interest in aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or government contracting industries.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to occasionally move throughout office, warehouse, manufacturing, or production environments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering manufacturing or production areas.
