Group Finance Manager

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent ensures the rigorous management of the Group's accounting and financial activities. He or she ensures the integrity of financial information, the production of financial statements and tax returns, compliance with internal controls and the effectiveness of closing processes. He or she acts as an operational partner to management and coordinates work with advisors, financial institutions and other external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Closings

• Plan, coordinate and carry out the monthly and annual closings of the Group's entities, in compliance with established deadlines.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, account analyses and year-end files.
• Ensure the accuracy of accounting entries, bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, accrued liabilities, deferred revenues and balance sheet items.
• Coordinates the consolidation or combination of financial information of the different entities and documents intercompany transactions.
• Provide management with reliable, clear financial information that is useful for decision-making.

Accounting, treasury and operations

• Oversee accounting cycles, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, collections, payroll, and disbursements.
• Monitor liquidity, prepare cash flow forecasts and support the management of domestic and international banking relationships and payments.
• Ensure proper processing of foreign currency transactions, cross-border transactions and reconciliations between financial systems.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, accounting policies, financial procedures and supporting documentation.

Tax, Compliance & Audit

• Coordinate the preparation and filing of tax returns, commodity taxes, tax slips and other regulatory obligations applicable to Group entities.
• Prepare records required by auditors, external accountants, tax authorities and other professional advisors, and follow up on requests.
• Contribute to tax credits, research and development and government assistance files, when required.
• Monitor relevant accounting and tax obligations and promptly report issues or risks to management.

Internal Controls and Continuous Improvement

• Establish, document and maintain internal controls commensurate with the Group's financial and operational risks.
• Identify gaps, process weaknesses, and opportunities for automation, then recommend and implement improvements.
• Promote the effective use of accounting, billing, payroll, expense management and reporting systems.
• Maintain the confidentiality, availability and integrity of financial documents and data.

Budget, forecasting and management support

• Participate in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and variance analyses.
• Produce profitability, margin, cost, recurring revenue and working capital analyses as required by management.
• Support the CFO in special projects, financial analysis, financing requests, corporate transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborates with functional managers to improve the quality of financial data and budgetary discipline.

Coaching and collaboration

• Coordinate, review and prioritize the work of the members of the finance team, when applicable.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer and maintain documentation that allows for business continuity.
• Develop constructive working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Perform any other responsibilities reasonably related to the function and needs of the Group.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
• CPA designation, or equivalent experience deemed relevant, is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, including the coordination of monthly and annual close processes, the management of corporate tax compliance obligations, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Experience in an environment with multiple entities, currencies or jurisdictions.
• Working knowledge of SAGE is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort with accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written, given interactions with stakeholders in Canada and internationally (other languages are an asset).
• Experience in a SaaS, regulated, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or GxP environment.
• Strong interpersonal and time-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build alignment through influence and consensus.
• Curiosity and initiative to learn new technologies, investigate complex issues, and apply practical solutions.
