Position Summary
The Grants & Payroll Manager advances Kids' Food Basket's mission by ensuring strong stewardship of grant funding and accurate payroll administration. This role leads financial compliance and reporting for federal, state, and private grants while managing biweekly payroll operations and labor allocations. Working across departments, the Grants & Payroll Manager provides financial insight, maintains regulatory compliance, supports audits, and helps ensure resources are used responsibly to maximize impact for the children and communities we serve.
What You'll Do
· Lead financial administration, compliance, and reporting for federal, state, and private grants.
· Develop grant budgets, monitor spending, and manage grant lifecycles from award through closeout.
· Review grant expenditures, prepare financial reports and reimbursement requests, and ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
· Process biweekly payroll for approximately 50 employees in partnership with Human Resources.
· Manage payroll allocations, labor distributions, and time-and-effort reporting across funding sources.
· Support audits, strengthen internal controls, and provide financial analysis and guidance across the organization.
What You'll Bring
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit/Public Administration, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
· Three or more years of experience with federal grants, cost allocations, and nonprofit grant compliance.
· Two or more years of payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, and labor allocation experience.
· Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, audits, payroll accounting, and compliance requirements.
· Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office; fund accounting software experience preferred.
· Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, with sound judgment and discretion.
