Job Description

Fractional Controller

Location:  Houston, TX

Contracted Hours:  55 hours per month

Position Overview

A growing technology consulting firm is seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to strengthen financial governance, reporting discipline, and accounting infrastructure across its U.S. and U.K. operations. The company helps enterprise clients modernize infrastructure, operationalize AI, and optimize cloud operations, creating an opportunity to work alongside a leadership team operating at the intersection of technology, AI, and enterprise transformation.

This is a high-impact oversight role, not a bookkeeping position. The Controller will ensure the numbers are accurate, reporting happens on schedule, and financial processes are documented and scalable as the business grows.

Existing outsourced accounting partners will continue to handle transactional accounting. The Controller will direct those partners, review their work, and hold them accountable for quality and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

·       Oversee multi-entity and multi-currency reporting across U.S. and U.K. entities.

·       Establish and enforce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting calendars.

·       Provide governance and compliance oversight across U.S. GAAP and U.K. GAAP.

·       Strengthen financial controls, reconciliation standards, and data integrity.

·       Document accounting processes and build scalable standard operating procedures.

·       Direct and manage outsourced accounting partners.

·       Improve financial systems and processes to support continued growth.

What Makes This Opportunity Compelling

·       Join a growing technology consulting business serving sophisticated enterprise clients.

·       Gain exposure to businesses and solutions spanning AI, cloud, and infrastructure modernization.

·       Work directly with leadership and have meaningful influence over the company's financial infrastructure.

·       Build processes and controls designed to support the organization's next stage of growth.

·       Operate at a strategic level without owning day-to-day transactional accounting.
