FP&A Manager, Operations - Chicago or Decatur, IL

Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global FP&A, Ag Services and Oilseeds (AS&O), the Operations FP&A Manager will serve as a strategic finance partner to AS&O Operations leadership, translating operational performance and cost drivers into actionable financial insights. This role will partner across FP&A, Controlling, Operations, Performance Management, Technology, Centers of Excellence (COEs), Corporate FP&A, and the respective Finance Director to support short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans aligned with AS&O and enterprise strategy.
The role will lead and support key components of the AS&O strategic business plan, long-range planning, annual planning, monthly forecasting, initiative tracking, and financial results analysis. This individual will provide business intelligence, variance analysis, and performance insights that improve operating performance, cost competitiveness, forecast accuracy, productivity tracking, and decision quality. Key success factors include strong business partnership, analytical rigor, executive communication, teamwork, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing business and project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner across the operations organization to identify and drive actions that improve manufacturing performance, including yield, efficiency, throughput, and cost structure.
Lead the annual operations planning process, including operating plans, productivity initiatives, and strategic actions across AS&O segments and geographies.
Develop and coordinate the operations financial forecast, ensuring alignment with business assumptions, operational drivers, and segment reporting requirements.
Evaluate assumptions, assess risks and opportunities, and explain variances versus prior year, plan, and forecast.
Partner with Operations, Performance Management, and Technology teams to establish performance tracking routines and KPIs for operating, productivity, and cost metrics.
Translate operational metrics and cost analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and follow-up actions for business and operations leaders.
Prepare and deliver operations performance materials, including Monthly AS&O Operations Metrics meetings and Operations Performance Reviews.
Benchmark manufacturing performance against internal standards and relevant industry benchmarks to identify improvement opportunities.
Identify, pilot, and help implement process improvements, work-process changes, and technology solutions that improve reporting quality, close efficiency, and decision support.
Support additional strategic, operational, and financial projects as assigned.


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in finance, business development, operations, or a related analytical role.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, navigate and organize disparate information and creatively problem solve without existing work plans
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong ability to collaborate with multicultural, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams.
Independent, inquisitive, and self-starting, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with business intelligence, ERP, planning, or reporting tools preferred.
Operations, manufacturing, or productivity tracking experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$121,900.00 - $200,100.00
