Job Title: Financial Analyst, Government Programs Please Note: This position is 100% in office in Guelph, ON Job Summary The Financial Analyst, Government Programs position, reporting to the Government Programs Manager, is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial and economic analysis projects related to Government Assistance. The Financial Analyst will be the lead and responsible for submitting Canadian government assistance claims and ancillary reporting. This position will also support a global team of country leads to proactively seek new opportunities for government assistance worldwide including researching global opportunities, partnering with Linamar’s business development team, and assisting with the execution of government agreements. Global responsibilities include regular management updates on status of programs, monitoring claims & cash receipts and working directly with global locations to assist as necessary with government claims, accounting and accrual issues. Responsibility Perform the timely analytics and submission of Canadian/provincial claims including required government reporting Support the domestic government programs submission process by collecting supporting schedules from plants, compile, analyze and consolidate in timely and accurate manner. Perform accounting accruals, accounting for cash receipts/claims made and reporting Support external audits as required Prepare the forecast and budget processes, including presentation materials. Compile information for annual, quarterly, and monthly reporting. Assist with financial planning and budget process. Interact with others in team and act as liaison between different departments. Support the global team to seek out new government assistance opportunities that correspond to Linamar’s global expansion and business development plans Support the applications for new Government Assistance programs Support the foreign government programs to monitor progress of foreign claims and cash receipts and Linamar’s commitments to job creation and country spending Academic/Educational Requirements Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Business or a related discipline. A CPA designation is preferred. General technical knowledge of the automotive industry is an asset. Ability to evaluate the accuracy of financial data. Ability to prepare financial summaries Ability to interpret graphs displaying revenues, expenses, liabilities and assets to evaluate key economic and treasury trends. Ability to work in a fully computerized environment including advanced Excel and Word skills, knowledge of BPC SAP and IFS systems is an asset. Required Skills/Experience Ability to discuss a variety of accounting and work-related topics with co-workers and colleagues. Continuously maintain current knowledge of all organizational accounting practices through seminars, webinars and professional conferences as needed.
