The Financial Analyst applies the principles of accounting within assigned areas of accountability. Compiles financial information, processes journal entries, opens and closes accounts, reconciles reports and financial data. Familiarity with the laws and regulations that apply to accounting functions that are required to ensure compliance. In addition, this entry-level role will gain exposure to hospital Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting processes, including preparation of supporting schedules, reconciliation of financial and statistical data to source documentation, and assisting with annual cost report filings. Job Description: Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: Process and reconcile monthly GL data. Maintain costing tables, including statistics and overhead allocations for cost processing. Assist in the development and distribution of various financial and statistical reports, including scheduled standard reports and ad hoc reporting. Maintain the confidentiality of departments, clinics, and patient information. Compiles financial information and assists in the preparation and explanation of reports from Workday. Use various software applications such as spreadsheets, statistical packages and graphics to assemble and format data in a user-friendly manner. Keeps abreast of laws and regulations that apply to the finance community and/or field of professional expertise. Complete special projects assigned accurately and in a timely manner, as required. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology or equivalent education. Licensure, Certification & Registration: N/A Experience: - 1-3 years of Health Care Finance experience. - Qualitative and quantitative skills normally acquired through Accounting or Finance related degree. - Proficiency with computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases and word processing - Ability to exercise sound judgement, present data in a thoughtful, concise manner and communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers, internally and externally. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior and partner with all team members to achieve goals. Receptive to others' ideas and opinions and have a flexible schedule to be able to support department needs. Demonstrate accurate, clear, and timely verbal and written communication, actively promote teamwork and work ethics, and always maintain confidentiality. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access, and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases. Willingness to learn federal and state cost reporting requirements, reimbursement methodologies, and the fundamentals of hospital finance. Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers. Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situations. Teamwork: Ability to lead collaborative teams for larger projects or groups both internal and external to the Medical Center and across functional areas. Results have implications for the management and operations of multiple areas of the organization. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner. Social/Environmental Requirements: Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the workday do not compromise the work. Work varies every day, and the employee needs to be adaptable to respond to these changes and use independent judgment and manage priorities. No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions Health Care Status: NHCW: No patient contact. Health Care Worker Status may vary by department. Sensory Requirements: Close work (paperwork, visual examination), Monitor Use, Visual clarity > 20 feet, Visual clarity <3 feet, Conversation. Physical Requirements: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally. Pay Range: $60,320.00 USD - $81,183.00 USD The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
