The Director, Corporate Finance & Accounting is a critical role within the finance team and a principle financial advisor to our businesses and senior management. This position will review and validate financial results for actuals, forecast, budget and strategic plan submissions. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the production and oversight of financial reporting for the corporation. The incumbent will have direct oversight over the Company’s corporate accounting systems and treasury accounting teams and work closely with the Vice-President & Corporate Controller on all aspects of corporate accounting and finance. The Director of Corporate Finance & Accounting collaborates closely with corporate personnel and is a key point of contact for operating companies (OpCos) in regards to accounting and reporting issues. Career progression opportunities exist within the corporate finance organization and within finance teams at our OpCos. This position reports to the VP & Corporate Controller and is part of the Finance and Accounting Department located in Washington, DC and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Works closely with Vice President & Corporate Controller and Vice President, FP&A in monthly reporting while managing a team of three direct reports with additional dotted lines from across the broader finance function. Heavily involved in the preparation of the Company’s 10-Q’s, 10-K’s, and occasional SEC reviews, including acting as a key point of contact for external auditors in planning and executing their work on corporate activities. Oversees accounting for Danaher’s US and Non-US debt positions, as well as related cross currency swaps, interest rate swaps and net asset hedge documentation and accounting. Responsible for understanding new accounting pronouncements and implementing them as well as serving as technical accounting resource for OpCos and Corporate management. Acts as resource for Danaher’s internal audit department and OPCO personnel in interpretations of GAAP and Danaher’s policies. Manages ad-hoc requests for analyses and information for Group CFOs, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations and Corporate Development. Maintains Danaher’s procedures manual and involved in maintaining Danaher’s accounting policy manual. Leads and drives process improvement projects. The essential requirements of the job include: Experience & Credentials BS/BA in Finance or Accounting and CPA required; 10+ years of progressively responsible finance and accounting leadership experience. Preferred qualifications include Big Four/public accounting experience, multinational business exposure, M&A integration and due diligence, and public company equity and debt transaction experience. Strategic Leadership & Influence Highly intelligent, decisive leader with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment, influence across OpCos and senior leadership, and demonstrate managerial courage, resilience, and a passion for results, including reviewing consolidated financial statements and coordinating consolidated financial forecasts in a highly accurate and timely manner. Exceptional Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Ability to analyze complex financial and business issues, identify root causes, distill key insights, develop actionable plans, and drive execution to successful outcomes. Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Expertise Deep knowledge of SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and public company accounting, with the ability to interpret, implement, and effectively communicate complex technical matters. Global Finance & Operational Excellence Proven success managing finance and accounting activities across multiple countries and business units, including forecasting, performance management, financial analysis, and process improvement. Controls, Integrity & Governance Demonstrated ability to strengthen internal controls, financial integrity, and compliance while maintaining the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and accountability. Business Partnership & Results Orientation Effective partner to operating and functional leaders, translating financial information into actionable insights that drive sustainable business performance and achievement of targets. The salary range for this role is $185,000-250,000 . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan to eligible employees.
