Summertown Metals is looking for a self-motivated individual to be a Controller in our finance department on our Contracting side. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits that include medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, STD, LTD, life, 401K with a company match, vacation and PTO. Must possess an Accounting degree. Job duties include, but are not limited to

Execute month-end processing for financial statement preparation
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile all bank accounts
- Prepare daily deposits and banking research
- Journal entry preparation
- Review financial statements and research GL accounts before CFO review
Maintain fixed assets spreadsheet monthly and record additions/ disposals
Debit card holder / Credit card expense reports, and receipts
- Categorize reported expenses for journal entries
- Ensure all transactions are recorded and investigate abnormal / potential fraudulent charges
Periodic reporting
- Sales Tax reporting/payment
- Workers Comp reporting/ payment / accrual
Assist CFO in
- Budget/forecasting preparation
- Improvement in Internal Controls
- Mentor, coach, assist and motivate staff
- Improve accounting efficiency / better procedures
- Documentation of improved Internal Controls
- Ensure STM Contracting/ Concrete books are accurate and up to date
- Assist in accounting for new location in Hayden Alabama
Other Special Projects
Reviewing and recommending process flows and improvements to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely financial reporting
