What is the role ?

We are looking for a Controller to join Hilti Finance team. In this role, you will play a key role in planning and steering marketing investments, turning financial data into insights that support better business decisions. You will oversee budgeting and forecasting activities, ensure transparency on costs and benefits, and partner with stakeholders across marketing, legal, procurement, IT, and other functions to support key initiatives and investment decisions. You will also contribute to defining how success is measured by establishing impact assessment approaches, developing meaningful KPIs, and tracking progress against business objectives. The role offers exposure to a broad range of initiatives and leadership teams, providing a unique opportunity to influence decisions, challenge perspectives, and create tangible business value.

What does the role involve?

Financial Planning & Reporting

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring activities for Strategic Marketing initiatives, helping to ensure transparency on investments, spending, and business outcomes.

Financial Analysis & Decision Support 

• Prepare financial analyses, reports, and insights that support business discussions, investment decisions, and performance reviews.

Project & Investment Governance:

• Support Contribute to the financial evaluation of projects and initiatives by preparing business case analyses, monitoring financial performance, and supporting governance processes. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders across legal, procurement, IT, and business functions, while contractual negotiations, approvals, and final decisions remain with the respective business owners and authorized functions.

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Collaboration :

• Work closely with marketing teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support planning activities, track financial performance, and help align investments with business objectives. 

Performance Measurement & KPI Tracking:

•  Support the development and monitoring of business targets, KPIs, and impact measurement approaches, helping to assess the value delivered by marketing investments.

Cross-Functional Initiatives :

• Contribute to a variety of marketing and business initiatives, gaining exposure to different functions, projects, and leadership teams across the organization. 

Learning & Development :

• Continuously expand financial and business knowledge while building strong stakeholder management skills in a collaborative and dynamic environment

What you need is:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or a related field.
•  2-3 years of experience in Controlling, Finance or a comparable business environment.
• Good financial and business acumen with a strong analytical mindset.
•  Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and compelling way.
•  Solid SAP R/3 or S/4HANA and SAP BI knowledge.
• Experience with Power Automate and Power Query is an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Curious and proactive mindset with an interest in challenging the status quo, identifying improvement opportunities, and simplifying processes.
• Enthusiasm for digital solutions, automation, and leveraging AI-enabled tools to increase efficiency and create business value.
• Structured, result-oriented, and persistent approach with a willingness to learn and continuously develop.
