The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead our client's finance operations. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial health and strategic direction of a growing, mission-driven organization.
In this role, you will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while establishing the internal controls necessary to support scale. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who wants to make a tangible impact in the thriving EdTech space.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements and reports to the executive team to guide strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor progress, and present operational metrics and financial forecasting.
- Internal Controls: Establish, monitor, and enforce comprehensive internal controls and financial procedures to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the daily operations of the finance and accounting team.
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate across departments to evaluate the financial impact of new initiatives, platform investments, and business growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles, ideally with experience operating as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the SaaS, EdTech, or e-learning sectors is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in modern accounting software and financial management systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
