Position Title: Controller
Reports To: President / Chief Executive Officer
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, inventory accounting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance functions for RAISCO LLC and Fox Energy Services, LLC. This position plays a critical role in supporting company growth, maintaining accurate financial records, managing cash flow, and providing financial analysis to leadership. The Controller will ensure that all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical distribution, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and multi-location financial operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage all accounting operations including:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll
- General Ledger
- Fixed Assets
- Inventory Accounting
- Cost Accounting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting for management and ownership.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate year-end closing activities and support external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions.
- Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
Inventory & Distribution Accounting
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory accuracy, shrinkage, adjustments, and obsolete inventory.
- Develop and maintain inventory controls for warehouses and distribution facilities.
- Analyze product margins, freight costs, and distribution expenses.
- Support cycle count and physical inventory programs.
- Ensure accurate costing methodologies are maintained.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance.
- Provide monthly variance analysis.
- Develop operational and financial forecasts.
- Support strategic planning initiatives.
Cash Management & Treasury
- Manage company banking relationships.
- Monitor daily cash positions and liquidity requirements.
- Oversee borrowing facilities, lines of credit, and lender reporting requirements.
- Optimize working capital management.
- Review customer credit risk and establish credit policies.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement policies and procedures that protect company assets.
- Monitor adherence to company purchasing and authorization policies.
- Support insurance audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Manage sales tax reporting and compliance.
- Support preparation of income tax returns with external tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with chemical industry reporting requirements where applicable.
- Maintain business licenses and regulatory registrations.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise accounting and administrative staff.
- Recruit, train, and develop finance personnel.
- Establish performance goals and accountability measures.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Support
- Provide financial analysis for business opportunities and acquisitions.
- Evaluate capital expenditures and investment opportunities.
- Support contract review and pricing strategies.
- Assist leadership in evaluating growth initiatives and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
- Advanced financial reporting and analysis skills.
- Inventory and cost accounting expertise.
- Budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.
- Proficiency with ERP and accounting software systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial personnel.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Software Experience
Experience with one or more of the following:
- QuickBooks Enterprise
- Microsoft Dynamics
- Excel Power Query and Power Pivot

- Month-end financial close completed within established deadlines.

Physical Requirements
