Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting and financial systems to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
- Maintain complete financial records and internal controls in line with hotels regulations and company policies.
- Provide timely and insightful financial reports and operational metrics to senior management.
- Manage the budgeting process, including preparation, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance evaluation.
- Supervise core accounting functions: accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and debt payments.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and tax requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Conduct financial analyses to support capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Service-oriented with experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Ability to prepare accurate financial reports with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established deadlines.
- Strong skills in researching, analyzing, and interpreting financial information.
- High level of confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with financial data management and data entry.
- Solid understanding of mathematics as applied to accounting and finance.
- Knowledge of accounting standards, bookkeeping practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports and presentations.
- Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
