We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and provide strategic financial oversight for our growing organization. As the Controller, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, improve internal controls, and provide meaningful financial insights that help drive informed business decisions.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risk.
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Create, update, and distribute financial and managerial reports to company leadership.
- Monitor budgets, analyze budget-to-actual performance, and communicate significant variances to management.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations related to capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate annual audits and collaborate with external auditors by providing required financial documentation.
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual financial reports with appropriate government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, operational efficiency, and financial reporting.
- Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Required
- Strong understanding of debits and credits, revenue recognition, and accrual versus cash accounting.
- Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting operations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software, tax preparation software, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation.
- Experience managing accounting teams and financial reporting in a growing organization.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to travel as needed.
