Contract Controller | Tribeca, NYC (Hybrid) | 6-Month Contract (W2 role) $80-$ 90/ per hour | November-May | November 1 start - Full-time! Our client, a retail-as-a-service company, is looking for a hands-on Controller for a 6-month contract to cover a maternity leave. They run a lean team, and the work follows a steady monthly rhythm. A November 1 start gives you two full cycles to get comfortable and make an impact. What you'll do Lead month-end close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Oversee monthly brand billing, creating statements for brands and stores based on prior-month performance (the largest part of the workload) Manage ASC 842 lease accounting for nearly 100 leases Handle AP/AR, cash management, and cash flow analysis Support budgeting, forecasting, tax, and internal controls Guide and review the work of a senior accountant What you bring 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Management experience (leading 3+ people is ideal) Strong GAAP knowledge, including month-end and year-end close Lease accounting experience - is REQUIRED NetSuite experience Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) Startup or small-company background, with hands-on exposure to every part of the close ************ LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY ************* Please Note: This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
